Honda Civic trunk spoiler, designed on a 3D scan
A one-off trunk spoiler for a 10th-generation Honda Civic sedan, modelled on a 3D scan of the trunk, printed in sections and joined.

The challenge
The owner of a 10th-generation Honda Civic sedan wanted a trunk spoiler shaped to the car's own trunk lid. The spoiler runs the full width of the trunk, which is longer than a printer's build plate, and it has to follow the trunk's curve from side to side.
Our process
- 3D scanned the rear of the car, including the trunk lid.
- Modelled the spoiler in CAD on top of the scan, following the trunk edge and the notch in the middle.
- Split the spoiler into sections that fit the printer and printed them in red.
- Joined the sections into one full-width piece.
- Test-fitted the spoiler on the trunk lid.
The result
The spoiler runs the full width of the trunk lid and follows its curve, with a notch in the middle that matches the trunk. It was printed in red sections and joined into one piece. The photos show it test-fitted on the car, before any paint or final mounting.
